Describe the situation
Explain whether the request concerns a business, self-employment or personal tax preparation. Identify your state, the year or months involved and the service you are considering.
Know what you have
Make a private list of accounts, software and available statements. You do not need to upload those files in the initial introduction. Mention the period and broad condition of the records.
Name the outcome you need
You may need a monthly routine, a defined catch-up period, organized records or review of a tax-preparation request. Identify a deadline if one is involved; an inquiry does not extend it.
Leave sensitive information out
Do not enter SSNs, birth dates, account numbers, tax returns or identity documents in the public form. After fit and scope review, Rene will explain the appropriate process for any accepted work.
Expect a scope before work starts
Confirm the deliverables, fee, responsibilities and timing separately. Sending the form does not create a client account, book an appointment or begin an engagement.
